Seven elements of ERP system selection for manufacturing informatization
relevant experts of national 863 think that ERP and other application software are both key and difficult in manufacturing informatization. The difficulty lies in that it is not only a technical project, but also a system engineering, which covers all aspects of enterprise management, but also involves the whole process of production and manufacturing, and manufacturing enterprises are the main users of ERP. According to the market survey of CCID in 2003, although the investment in informatization of energy enterprises is large, its ERP only accounts for 6.5%; Circulation enterprises are also hot spots, but ERP only accounts for 19.2%; ERP of manufacturing enterprises accounts for 63.1%, and manufacturing industry is obviously a big market that ERP manufacturers must pay attention to
there is no shortage of model selection elements
based on the experience and lessons of many years, manufacturing enterprises have generally reached the following consensus on the construction of information system: the application software is the key, the selection of partners is the key, and the use of ERP and other commercialized software is the trend
at the beginning, enterprises only paid attention to the selection of hardware equipment such as computers and network infrastructure. Relatively speaking, these products have high brand concentration, mature technology and high price transparency, so the selection is not difficult. The same is true of the current operating system, database and other system software. ERP and other application software are closely related to user needs, determining the success or failure of information systems, involving all aspects of enterprise management, which requires a considerable implementation cycle. Therefore, ERP should be taken as the focus of enterprise information system selection
first of all, the selection should consider the specific needs of the enterprise, implementation conditions, management foundation, personnel quality, investment ability and other factors, proceed from reality, do what you can, don't blindly compare, and follow (3) the project analysis. Enterprises must do a good job in the early stage according to their own conditions, such as the determination and quantification of needs, the sorting of business processes, etc
secondly, the overall planning should be comprehensive, and the truss aerial work platform jg/t5104 ⑴ in 1998, the demand changes and technological development after 1998 should be considered, but the specific implementation should be carried out step by step, first easy, then difficult. Do not act rashly without a solid feasibility study and master plan. Users should generally consider the following factors when choosing ERP products and manufacturers:
1 Brand ERP model selection is not only to choose a commodity, but also to choose a trusted long-term partner, so the brand effect deserves attention. Choosing ERP products of international famous brands can undoubtedly achieve better image effect, and choosing the right brand can also ensure the best investment benefit. Although there are many management software companies, the threshold to become a true ERP supplier is not low, so there are not many well-known national brands and industry brands in the market. Therefore, enterprises should choose ERP companies with outstanding business reputation, good business performance, strong development strength and rich implementation experience
2. Industry background even if it is a well-known foreign company, the degree of involvement in various industries is deep and shallow, and it often has advantages only in specific industries. Manufacturers often say "facing all kinds of industries" and "suitable for all kinds of enterprises", which is actually equivalent to saying nothing. And "top 100 enterprises in the industry have ×× "Home has applied our software" is undoubtedly more persuasive, so we need to conduct an in-depth investigation of the industry background of the manufacturer. In addition to the introduction of manufacturers, industry market information can be collected through media, conferences and other channels, as well as through industry associations and other organizations
3. At present, most users put the successful cases of manufacturers in the past as the primary condition to be considered in the selection of models. This is actually a comprehensive investigation of manufacturers' products, services and customer relations. It is a very time-saving practice, especially the cases of enterprises in the same industry. If there is an industry user group with high satisfaction, it is the best recognition of the industry background of the manufacturer. The person in charge of enterprise information system selection must visit these enterprises on the spot to understand the success or failure of these cases and be aware of them. For enterprises in other industries, even the "gold medal case", there should be questions: the production process is different, can the production and manufacturing management module be used in our factory? In addition, during the field investigation, we must be well prepared, not simply as an opportunity to learn from experience, nor superstitious about the perfect demonstration of typical users, but to effectively investigate the data operation in the system and the use of grass-roots personnel
4. System function is essential, such as finding a loose link. Manufacturers generally prepare promotional materials and software demonstrations such as software function module manuals. In fact, most of the theoretical concepts described in the instructions are not different from each other, while the differences of products in actual use are far greater than those in the instructions. Therefore, the model selection enterprise should also prepare some materials in advance, such as the bill of materials (BOM) of a product, the simple process of the product, the purchase contract with the supplier, the sales contract with a typical customer, etc., and then hand these materials to the software supplier for field application in the demonstration, which can better illustrate the problem
5. In addition to considering the price of software products, we should also pay attention to the cost of consulting implementation and after-sales service. It must be noted that the one size fits all model of price must not be adopted, and the price reduction is the only means of model selection, which will inevitably increase the risk of the project
6. The implementation team and the implementation consultant of the manufacturer are the key factors that affect the success of ERP projects. Even if the manufacturer has the implementation background in the same industry, the implementation effect will be greatly reduced if the consultant changes new people. Enterprises can require consultants to participate in the whole process of model selection consultation. In addition, they can also specify the terms of consultant qualifications, time guarantee, consultant replacement, etc. in the contract terms, so as to select high-level and experienced implementation personnel as much as possible
7. After sales service manufacturers should have a perfect after-sales service mechanism, which can timely respond to and meet the needs of enterprises for various and non local services. It should be noted that the manufacturer's ability to develop products is different from the ability to establish a well-established after-sales service team. Therefore, the manufacturer's service commitment should include both local service points and remote support capabilities, which is a test of the manufacturer's management level. (end)
